The Effects of Ransomware Attacks


Ransomware can penetrate all sorts of computers of whether home users or businesses. Once the attack is activated, the effects can be very costly and expensive. It includes permanent or temporary loss of critical documents and proprietary information that could bring business operations into a halt. When this happens, companies lose profits as well as potential and existing customers. It could also ruin their reputation.

Should the owner choose to pay the ransom, there is no guarantee that they could get back their files. Cybercriminals usually use ransomware just to extort money, and won’t release the encrypted files back. And even if they do, they already got an access to the user’s computer, and will most likely do it again.
